Especially in the northern part of Ireland (not Northern Ireland) you come a cross quite a few acres of bogland. There you often  see rural people at work in the old traditon of cutting peat. The peat is than piled up in order to dry before one can use it to burn in a fireplace, very often seen in colder days at local pubs across the country.
